Specification Tip for Design Professionals:

Dryzone may be specified by name or by using the following description: a propriety ready to use cream which provides a highly effective chemical barrier against rising damp in masonry walls.

Test Results:

  • BBA certified – Dryzone has successfully passed a severe damp-proofing test demonstrating effectiveness even in saturated walls.
  • WTA (Germany) approved for use as a rising damp treatment in highly saturated walls (up to 95%).
  • University of Portsmouth – the test compares the performance of Dryzone to that of low-strength, economy damp-proofing cream, demonstrating the far higher efficacy of Dryzone over low strength cream.
  • WTCB (Belgium) testing revealed Dryzone to be very effective at varying levels of capillary saturation.
  • OFI (Austria) testing found Dryzone to be a highly effective treatment, reducing the maximum moisture content of the walls.
  • ITB (Poland) tested the effectiveness and material spread of Dryzone in a ceramic brick, lime-cement mortar wall. Results showed a substantial initial drop in moisture content that increased to a 97% moisture reduction over 3 months.
  • EMI (Hungary) testing confirmed the efficiency of Dryzone in saturation reduction, establishing the damp-proof barrier is effective in 95% saturation conditions.
  • In-house tests carried out by Safeguard have proven the efficacy of Dryzone for high & low temperatures, rubble-infill walls and salt water conditions.
