Keep Moss Under Control!
Moss, lichen and algae grow actively in wet weather and can be found on roof tiles or concrete paths. As these organisms need water to grow and multiply, surfaces that are shaded and are continuously damp are more prone to moss and algae growth. This is why the growth is more pronounced on the north facing roofs as they tend to stay damp longer.
If left unattended the moss will embed itself into the roof surface damaging it and leading to water ingress.

The following are simple solutions to cure the problem:
Roofs
Step 1:
If possible remove branches of trees etc. that overhang your roof to allow direct sunlight and good aeration to reach your roof.
Step 2:
Use a stiff bristle-brush to remove any heavy deposits of moss from the roof, remove decaying leaves, needles, and other debris from your roof and gutters.
Step 3:
Spray the complete roof area with SURFASCLEAN Fungicidal Wash or DeSalin AM, allowing the product to work for 30 minutes and then thoroughly washing the complete area with clean potable water and allow to dry.
Step 4:
Using SurfaPore R coat the complete roof area to provide a hydrophobic surface.
Paths & Patios
Step 1:
Use a stiff bristle-brush to remove any heavy deposits of moss from the area.
Step 2:
Spray the complete area with SURFASCLEAN Fungicidal Wash or DeSalin AM, allowing the product to work for 30 minutes and then thoroughly washing the complete area with clean potable water and allow to dry.
Step 3:
Using SurfaPore C or Maxclear D, coat the complete roof area to provide a hydrophobic surface.
